Personal book notes
I have always loved to read. I remember sitting for hours in my local library in my home town of Belper, England. I would find a comfy seat, snuggle under a blanket and lose myself in a great book. Books shaped my life. The wonderful Miss Honey (my teaching inspiration), the stories of Paddington Bear by Michael Bond, the Tales of Peter Rabbit by Beatrix Potter (Beatrix is my youngest daughter's name) and the Adventures of the Famous Five by Enid Blyton took me from my reality into a world of limitless opportunity. I met my wife in a High School English class where we read To Kill A MockingBird by Harper Lee (Harper in the name of my eldest child). Reading is a doorway to endless worlds, offering adventure, wisdom, and escape. Each page invites discovery, sparking curiosity and expanding our minds. Itβs a joy that transcends time and place, enriching our lives with new perspectives and experiences. Through books, we unlock the limitless power of imagination. I am fortunate to continue reading to young children daily in my class with my children at home.
In the wonderful worlds of C.S. Lewis (British writer and lay theologian):
βYou can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me.β
Here are a few books that I have read. I hope that you find them useful.
