My name is Mathew Green. Here are several ways we can connect, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram. I am always up for a chat.

Most importantly, I am a husband and proud dad of two wonderfully strong-minded daughters. I teach, write and research I always think about things and ask questions such as:

Are eyebrows considered facial hair?
Can you daydream at night?
Do stairs go up or down?

On a serious note, the world is fascinating, and there is much to discover.

My life has been and continues to be, shaped by great teaching. We all have that one teacher—the one who saw us, who valued us, and who believed in us when we didn’t believe in ourselves. For me, that teacher was Mrs. Taylor-Jones. I can still remember walking into her classroom and immediately feeling heard and cared for. Looking back, I can’t recall the exact lessons or content she taught, but I’ll never forget how she made me feel.

What Mrs. Taylor-Jones gave me went beyond just knowledge. She had a special way of making every student feel important, and that stayed with me long after I left her class. She did this for all of her students, though I don’t think she’ll ever fully realise the lasting impact she had on us. Sometimes, the lessons we remember aren’t the ones written in a book—they’re the ones we carry with us in our hearts.

Now, years later, I stand in front of a classroom, privileged to help shape the lives of the students before me. Teaching isn’t just a job—it’s an opportunity to make a real difference. For some students, it could be the chance to change the course of their future, just as Mrs. Taylor-Jones did for me.
